The new Actyon Sport is a beauty

3 February 2012

SsangYong’s new ute – the Actyon Sports – will be available at SsangYong dealerships around the country later this month.

The new ute will be tough to beat. It ticks all the boxes – it has style, comfort, power and economy – and it’s affordable with a starting price of just $36,990 plus on road costs.

SsangYong New Zealand General Manager Deon Cooper says the Actyon Sports will appeal to a wide audience. "Utes are being driven by more and more New Zealanders these days as they are so versatile. The new Actyon Sports is practical, comfortable and it looks really good too. Not to mention it is economical to run, environmentally friendly and has all the latest safety features."

The sharp front hood character lines, the mesh radiator grille and ladder bumper all add to the rugged good looks of the new Actyon Sports. Key features that are standard across the range include Bluetooth with audio aux, ESP with hill start and roll over protection and child isofix tethers. It comes in six speed manual or six speed auto two or four wheel drive, and is available in seven modern colours.

The new SsangYong ute is economical but powerful. The 2.0l e-xdi active diesel engine with direct injection is optimised by low-end torque of 190Nm at just over 1100 rpm and a maximum torque of 360nm at 1500 rpm – perfect for NZ conditions. The CO2 level has been lowered to 196g/km in rear-wheel drive and 199g/km in part-time 4-wheel drive, satisfying the toughest Euro emission standards.

The designers have also included a few extras to enhance the comfort and enjoyment for the driver and passengers. The Bluetooth switch has been added to the steering column to allow hands-free operation, a trip computer has been added to the gauge cluster which tracks your travel distance, travel time and fuel consumption and the steering wheel now comes with a natural leather cover. The font seats are both heated, the driver and passenger seats are multi adjustable and the back seats have enhanced reclining angles for kids to sleep. The climate control system is equipped with sensors that monitor the air temperature inside and outside the vehicle and automatically maintain the ideal level inside.

"This is not just a work ute – it can be a family vehicle for work and play. We can’t wait to see what kiwi’s think of it," said Mr Cooper.

The new Actyon Sports also comes with SsangYong’s three year, 100,000km warranty.
