RX270Xdi

The SsangYong 3rd-generation, intercooled turbo, common rail 2.7 litre diesel generates maximum power of 121kW @ 4000rpm and maximum torque of 340Nm @ 2400rpm. It is equipped with a sophisticated direct injection system that boosts power and fuel efficiency for cleaner, more economical operation. Maximum torque is delivered over virtually the entire rpm range, providing quick engine response and outstanding acceleration when passing.

RX270XVT SPR & Sport

The new SPR/Sport model engine is a common rail variable turbo 2.7 litre diesel which generates maximum power of 137kW @ 4000rpm and maximum torque of 402Nm @ 1600rpm.

Optional T-Tronic 5-Speed Automatic Transmission.

The transmission system comes with SsangYong's innovative steering wheel-mounted shift buttons. An AI programme monitors and "remembers" the driver's gear shifting habits and determines the shift points for optimal smoothness and fuel efficiency. The transmission is linked directly to the engine via a lock-up torque converter, minimising energy loss for even greater fuel savings. And T-Tronic comes with Winter Mode, allowing you to start out or back up in second gear to prevent slipping on snow or ice.

Thumbs Up Manual Shift Feature

Switches are conveniently located on both the gearshift knob and steering wheel for you to shift up(+) or down(-) manually for a sportier driving sensation.

Torque on Demand (Base)

Most of the power is allocated to the rear wheels under normal driving conditions, resulting in essentially a two-wheel drive. Should road conditions worsen and the wheels start to slip, the system will automatically transfer more torque to the front wheels to add greater stability.

All Wheel Drive (SPR & Sport)

The All Wheel Drive transfer case keeps the vehicle operating the full time 4WD function and distributes the driving force to front wheels and rear wheels in the ratio of 40:60

Suspension

Double Wishbone in Front

The front wheels are suspended by lower and upper arms to maintain optimal wheel contact for better driving stability. Ride smoothness is further enhanced by dual action gas-filled shock absorbers, stabiliser bar and coil springs.

Rear Rigid Axle With 5-link Coil Springs on Xdi Model

While a vehicle is moving, impact to the wheels comes from every direction. The five-link rear suspension system offers the best cushion against such shocks to give The Rexton its uniquely passenger-car ride personality.

The greater the number of links, the better the suspension system is at dispersing shock impact and improving ride comfort. Superior traction is achieved by increasing the freedom of wheel movement in responding to road surface conditions. Minimising the load carried by each link results in outstanding durability.

The SPR features ESP (Electronic Stability Program) which integrates the active safety technologies of EBD, ABS and BAS to help control the vehicle in all situations. It detects and corrects wheel slippage by adjusting acceleration and braking.
